Graduate department of Punjabi of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya organized an
interactive session with Dr. Satish Kumar Verma, famous writer under the able
guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. The programme started with
DAV Gaan and lighting of the lamp. As per the tradition of HMV, the Chief Guest
was welcomed with Green Planter and souvenir. Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen
welcomed Dr. Satish Kumar Verma and congratulated Punjabi Department for this
successful programme. She said that our mother tongue Punjabi has a rich
tradition. The literature in Punjabi language is very precious and historical.
She said that plays are like mirror of life. We can watch different characters
through plays. She encouraged the students to remain connected with the Punjabi
language, literature and culture. Head of Punjabi Department Dr. Navroop also
welcomed Dr. Satish Kumar Verma. She said that Dr. Verma has made Punjabi
literature achieve never heights. Dr. Verma addressed the students and said
that literature and language are the introduction of a person. He talked about
women empowerment and said that women and God are equal. He encouraged the
students to maintain a balance between heart, mind and body. He also encouraged
them to face the difficulties of life with full energy and courage. Punjabi
Sahitya Sabha also organized Cultural Art Exhibition. The students showcased
their talen by exhibiting art work made from waste things. Incharge Punjabi
Sahitya Sabha Dr. Mandeep Kaur presented vote of thanks. The stage was
conducted by Dr. Sandeep Kaur. On this occasion, faculty members of Punjabi
Department Mrs. Kuljit Kaur, Dr. Veena Arora, Ms. Amandeep and Ms. Simranjeet
Kaur were also present.
