Under the visionary guidance of Principal Dr.
Ekta Khosla, HMV Collegiate Senior Secondary School organized an impactful
Extension Lecture on Cyber Crime, aimed at equipping students with awareness in
today’s rapidly evolving digital world. The resource person, Dr. Urvashi Sharma
Mishra, Associate Professor and Dean, Student Council, HMV, delivered an
informative and engaging session. She shed light on the rising concerns of
identity theft, phishing attacks, cyber bullying, online financial frauds, weak
password practices, and the legal consequences associated with cyber offenses.
Through real-life examples and practical tips, she encouraged students to
follow responsible digital behaviour, maintain strong cyber hygiene, and remain
vigilant while using social media and digital payment platforms. School
Coordinator Mrs. Arvinder Kaur highlighted that in an era driven by technology,
awareness and caution serve as the strongest defense against cyber threats. She
appreciated the initiative, noting that such educational efforts play a crucial
role in shaping digitally aware, safe, and responsible young citizens. The
session concluded with an interactive question–answer round, where students
participated enthusiastically, seeking clarity on various cyber issues.
