Prerna Punj inaugurated at HMV




Decked and adorned in saffron hues, HMV witnessed the inauguration of ‘Prerna Punj’, through the pious hands of Hon’ble Dr. Punam Suri (Padma Shree Awardee), President, DAV College Managing Committee, New Delhi on 22nd September, 2018.   The statues of Swami Dayanand Saraswati, Mahatma Hans Raj, Mahatma Anand Swami, the three stalwarts of DAV were unveiled to serve as an inspiration for the students.  A special assembly was organized by the exuberant students to mark this historic day.  All jubilant and gleeful students, faculty, staff and guests welcomed Dr. Punam Suri and Mrs. Mani Suri in the college.  Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen eulogized Dr. Suri by calling him an epitome of perfection and a noble soul.  She thanked Dr. Suri for his constant motivation and blessings.  She also thanked Mrs. Mani Suri, the first lady of DAV for her benevolent presence and prayed for her healthy life.  She apprised the gathering of the fact that the institution has succeeded in crossing its previous targets in terms of strength.  HMV possesses the honour of being the only college in North India to have 12 skilled courses.  It is matter of pride that the college received the status of Kaushal Kendra from UGC with a grant of Rs.5.00 Crore.  The formal inauguration of Kaushal Kendra was done by displaying a model of HMV Kaushal Kendra and releasing a host of colourful of balloons in the air.  An appreciation message for the status of Kaushal Kendra was also received by Principal Prof. Dr. Sareen from Dr. Punam Suri.  HMV holds another distinct honour of being the only college in the region that has been selected for Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, a flagship programme of MHRD.  Dr. Punam Suri planted a sapling in recognition of the movement of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan for a clear healthy and self-sufficient India.  Dr. Suri congratulated the HMV family for achieving unparalleled heights of success and wished that it maintains this status in future as well.
                In continuation of the tradition of Rakhi Sakhi, symbolic of intense relationships, rakhis were tied on the wrists of Mrs. Suri and Mrs. Sud.  Mrs. Suri thanked Dr. Sareen and said that the most pious quality of women is to strengthen relations.

Kundan Lal Aggarwal, Sh. Ashok Paruthi, Sh. Shital Vij, Sh. Irwin Khanna, Sh. Surendra Seth, Dr. Pawan Gupta, Principal S.K. Arora, Principal Manoj Kumar, Principal Anoop Kumar, Dr. Sanjeev Sood, Dr. Neeru Chadha, Principal Jatinder Sharma, Principal Vinod Kumar, Principal Vijay Sharma, Principal Mrs. Anita Mehra, Principal Yogesh Gambhir, Mr. Raj Kumar, Mr. Vipan Jhanji.  The vote of thanks was presented by Justice (Retd.)Sh. N.K. Sud, Vice President, DAVCMC and Chairman Local Committee who described Dr. Punam Suri as a beacon of light and source of inspiration.  Stage was conducted by Dr. Anjana Bhatia.
