NSS Volunteers from HMV honored for toiling hard to brighter the future of young girls of Govt. Schools



NSS volunteers from Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar were honored for undertaking a unique mission in associatioin with District Administration Jalandhar & NGO Pratham to educate & strengthen the basic skills of primary students of Government Schools.  Under the inspiration & able guidance of Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen, the NSS Volunteers participated in the student bridge gap program to impart basic learning skills in Mathematics, Science and English.  The program was conceptualized to develop basic competencies required for subject understanding in govt. schools of Punjab.  HMV Jalandhar, District Administration & NGO Pratham joined hards for this pilot project in the city.  20 NSS Volunteers trained the children by encouraging them to learn the things practically.  NSS Volunteers devotedly toiled hard to address the gap in Education system especially in early years of the children.  The NSS Volunteers were awarded certificates by Chief Guest Sh Paramveer Singh, SDM-II.  On this occasion, Sh. Paramveer Singh congratulated the volunteers for their untiring efforts.  Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen said that it is the mission & duty of HMV to inculcate the sense of social responsibility amongst its students.  Mr. Vikram from NGO Pratham presented in detail the impact & outcome of the work done by students.  Program Officer Dr. (Mrs.) Anjana Bhatia said that due to lack of infrastructure in some rural & slum area schools, the students suffer a lack of exposure to the latest & innovative methods of teachings.  Mr. Surjit Lal, Nodal Officer also motivated the students to become useful citizens of the society.  Program Officer Mrs. Veena Arora, Ms. Prabhsimran from Pratham & Miss Harmanu Paul were also present.
