Workshop on Counselling at HMV

The Psychology Department of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya organized a workshop on Counselling under the able guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen.  On this occasion, the resource person for the workshop was Mrs. Rajwinder Kaur, Counsellor, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Suranussi.  Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen and Dr. Ashmeen Kaur, HOD Psychology welcomed her with a planter.  Mrs. Rajwinder Kaur, in the beginning, conducted an ice-breaking session which included an activity about the unique qualities of each student and how we are inter-connected through these qualities.  After this she gave a power-point presentation regarding the basic process of counselling which enlightened the students with the counselling domain of Psychology in a more broader way.  She encouraged the students to apply the principles of counselling into their daily lives and inter-personal relations as well she helped the students to realize that how the field of counselling acts like an umbrella and encompasses each and every aspect of human life. 

            Along with this, she also conducted various activities with the students which were related to school counselling in which she provided the students with various case studies which included issues of school-going children like the clash of viewpoints with parents, sports, studies, infatuation, pen pressure etc.  This helped the students understand, how a counsellor works in a school and also the students got insight into their own personal problems and the strategies to deal and cope up with them.  During interactive session, she answered the queries of the students.  Ms. Aastha Angrish gave the vote of thanks.
