2nd day of FDP on Visual and Performing Art at HMV



The second day of the seven day Faculty Development Programme on Visual and Performing Arts organized under the dynamic leadership of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen witnessed the presence of Dr. Monika, NIT Jalandhar and Mr. Amit Zurff, Artist, Dainik Bhaskar.  Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen presented planters to welcome the resource persons in Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar. The event began with the lighting of lamp and recital of DAV Anthem.
            Principal Dr. Sareen in her welcome address gave her best wishes to the participants for the second day devoted to Designing and entitled as Expressions.  She said that the participants will learn many new concepts and techniques during the technical sessions.
            The first session was facilitated by Dr. Monika Sikka on the topic Innovative Textile.  She detailed on innovative and unusual fibres and fabrics used around the world.  She discussed about infused wearables, sensor textiles, medical textiles, colour changing textiles, scented textiles and many more.
            In the second session, Mr. Amit Zurff elaborated on the topic Moods of Colours and talked about the effect of music on the artists.  Music inspires the painters to express their feelings on the canvas.  He also gave a demonstration to explain his concept.  In the post lunch session he spoke on the topic ‘Flowing Silhouettes’ in which he compared dance with fashion illustrations and sketching.
            The participants from the various institutions were thrilled to learn novel concepts.  Dr. Rakhi Mehta, Convener and Dr. Pooja Manhas, Co-Convener thanked the attendees for their zestful participation.
