Students
of M.Sc. (Botany) completed training at Forest Research Institute, Dehradun and
CPRI, Shimla. Students of HMV, Tanya and Sharan were selected out of hundred
applicants to complete training in Forest Biodiversity Division in Forest
Conservation Department at FRI, Dehradun under Scientists Dr.
Vipan & Dr. Shailesh Pandey. The students learnt about Fungal Diversity,
Fungal Taxonomy & Molecular Taxonomy at the premium Institute. Apart from
FRI, four students of M.Sc. (Botany) Aditi, Deepika, Kajal & Neha were also
selected from among hundreds of candidates to train in Plant Protection
Division & Growth Harvesting Techniques. Students learnt microscopic
technique PCR, DNA & RNA isolation and NCBI Blast. Principal Dr. (Mrs.)
Ajay Sareen congratulated the students and motivated them to excel globally. Dr
Anjana Bhatia also congratulated the students on the successful completion of
their summer internship. She told that M.Sc. (Botany) has been successfully
running in the institute for past 15 years and the students of M.Sc. (Botany)
have attained top positions in Botany right from the inception year.
