Hans
Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar organized “ Khush Amdeed 2K19” for resident scholar under the able guidance
of Mrs. Meenakshi Sayal , Coordinator Resident Scholars. The chief guest of the
event was Principal Prof Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. The guests of honor were Ms.
Muskarnpreet Kaur (PG Head Girl 2018) and Ms. Pawanpreet Kaur (UG Head Girl
2018). Mr. Sushil Kumar ( Physics Dept.), Mr. Amarjit Khanna ( Office
Superintendent), Mr. Pankaj Jyoti (Account
Superintendent), Mr. Lakhwinder Singh( Hostel Superintendent) and Mr.
Ravi were also present. The event started with lighting of lamp followed by
recital of DAV Gaan. Hostel Co-ordinator Mrs. Meenakshi Syal welcomed the
guests with planter. She gave a brief introduction of the event and proposed
formal welcome of guests and parents. She said that this evening is dedicated
to fresher’s of hostel.
The
students showcased their talent by participating in various items
enthusiastically including number of dance performances from Bhangra Girls,
Desi Crew Group, Ladakhi Group, Natti Group, Fab 4 Dance Group, Phoenix Group,
Dumb Dance, Tasting stars etc. Along with these, students put a magnificent
show by their traditional Gujrati and Punjabi Dance performances, presented by
Gujrati Dance Group and Giddhe Dia Raniya Group.
The
glamour and style of the new students were judge by Dr. Ashmeen Kaur (Dean
Discipline and Cultural Head), Mrs. Deepshikha (Chemistry Dept.), Mrs. Navroop
( Dean Youth Welfare), Mrs. Kuljit Kaur( Dean Holistic Development ) and Mrs.
Rakhi Mehta ( Fine Arts Dept. ). Ms. Rashi (B. Sc Biotech) won the title of
Miss Fresher 2K19, Ist Runner up was Ms. Kamaljeet Kaur of M. Com and IInd
Runner up was Ms. Shreya Rana of B. Sc (Med). Ms. Ethnic 2K19 title was bagged
by Ms. Kashmin of B. A. and Ms. Angel of B. A. received the title of Miss
Charming 2K19. Giving her blessings to
the students, Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.)
Ajay Sareen said that students should work right from the beginning to achieve
their goals. Further she advised the students to be very particular with their
behavior as they can inspire many other girls. Ms. Mandira Joshi (SSC-II Head
Girl) gave vote of thanks. Stage was conducted by Miss. Anjali . On this occasion,
faculty members of various departments and hostel wardens were also present.
