Message for Teacher's Day by Padmashree Punam Suri, President DAVCMC, and Arya Pradeshik Pratinidhi Sabha, New Delhi

MESSAGE FOR TEACHER'S DAY

I am privileged and very happy to join you, in celebrating Teacher’s Day in the memory of the great philosopher, thinker and teacher, Dr. Sarvepalli Radha Krishnan, former President of India.
At the outset, let me express my gratitude to all our Teachers, Principals, Teacher-Trainers and the supporting staff in our DAV Institutions, who have been toiling everyday in imparting value-based modern education to the youngsters. Today, I wish for you a heart full compassion and wisdom, which can recognize the needs and aspirations of the Next Gen kids and their parents. Let the truest potential of each pupil be realized to the fullest, and thereby that of this great nation.
The profession of a teacher is noble, indeed. At times, the work of a teacher is compared to a candle, which illuminates the space around with its ‘light of knowledge’, though with a humongous difference. Taking this analogy forward, as each child progresses in life; it in turn lights a hundered more candles, spreading the light of knowledge exponentially in our society.
Let us take a pledge that every school becomes a thinking school and every class a thinking class that our children are ready to take up the new challenges in the new era.
Education imparted by our teachers not only equips every student with skills and competencies necessary for economic success; but also empowers them with values & virtues that foster social harmony and unity. A well-educated India will only be able to lead the world – was the dream that our forefathers saw and we at DAV reiterate our commitment for accomplishing that dream.
I also wish to remind our teachers that a true teacher is one who never stops learning. On this pious occassion let us take a pledge to reform the education sector through innovation and change but at the same time also create a robust system for imparting Value Education & ancient traditions.
May God bless all of us, and keep smiling.

Wishing you a very Happy Teacher's Day!
