The 46th Annual
Function of Manav Sehyog Society for award of Scholarships to the students of
various colleges was organised in the Ragini Auditorium of Hans Raj Mahila Maha
Vidyalaya. The society extended a warm welcome to the chief guest of the day
Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen, Principal, Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya. Sh.
P.K. Jain from S. Vikas & Company
was the guest of honour and Dr. S.K. Sharma was the Chairman of the function.
Sh. Vinesh Jain, the
secretary of the organisation apprised the audience of the 3 dispensaries being
run in the city and the services of mobile van dispensaries being rendered even
in remote villages. He also threw light on literacy classes being run to
educate and empower the impoverished section of the society, a vocational
training centre providing computer
stitching & beauty courses and a CBSE School upgraded to 12th
Classes. The institute also provides financial help through benefactors and
donors.
Complementary their newly
introduced project “Jiyo Zindagi” day centre for the senior citizens, the chief
guest Madam Ajay Sareen in her speech gave a very effective slogan for the
society “Beti Bachao, Beti Padao, Beta Samjhao aur Bujurg Apnao.” She
emphasized that the right guidance given to the young boys and the sense of
responsibility towards the elders who are the pillars of the society can in a
big way build a better nation. This slogan was highly appreciated by the organizers
and the elite audience presence. She also gave a very effective example of Pune
and Bangalore where young people provide their services by sparing a few hours
to provide companionship to the desperate and neglected lot of old people which
in turns contributes in giving them a feel of blessing their own children and
being a part of an extended family.
A short cultural
programme highlighting the responsible role of the present day youth towards
their elders was presented by the students of Manav Sehyog Society. An
exhibition cum sale of the display of the articles prepared by the vocational
centre was put up. 83 deserving and academically proficient Students were
granted scholarships worth Rs. 6.21 lakh out of which 15 students are from HMV
and various donors with long association with the society were honoured and
their services were acknowledged. The society also acknowledged the services of
Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, the host college and thanked Madam Principal
with a sense of gratitude.
