89th Convocation organised with grandeur at HMV







January 28, 2020 marked a memorable day in the life of 819 young students of various disciplines when they were conferred with degrees in the 89th convocation organized at Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya under the assiduous guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. The Principal offered a warm and green welcome to the Honorable Chief Guest Sh. Shiv Raman Gaur, IAS (Retd.) Director Higher Education DAVCMC, New Delhi. Dean Academics Dr. Kanwaldeep, Dean Examination Dr. Ekta Khosla, Dr. Prem Sagar, HOD Music department, Mr. Amarjeet Khanna, Mr. Raman Behl, Mr. Kamal and Head girls presented planters to Guests of eminence. Sh. N.K. Sud, Vice President DAVCMC, Sh. Arvind Ghai Sect. DAVCMC, esteemed Mrs. Shiksha Gaur, revered Mrs. Arunima Sud and Dr. Pawan Gupta. The dignitaries from the Local Committee, Sh. Kundan Lal Aggarwal, Councellor Sh. Mohinder Gullu, Sh. Prince Ashok Grover, Sh.S.P. Sehdev, Sh. Desh Bandhu, officiating Vice Chancellor DAV University and Principals of DAV institutions formed the part of the convocation ceremony. The 89th convocation began with the ceremonial lighting of lamp and recital of DAV Anthem. 32 students were awarded with Roll of Honour alongwith  Dr. Harpreet Singh who was honoured for receiving the degree of Ph.D. The students took an oath to keep up the values of unity and integrity. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen presented the Annual Report of the institution before the august audience and spotlighted the remarkable achievements of HMV reflecting the feelings of contentment and pride. She highlighted the going paperless and plastic free initiative of the institution and a number of innovations introduced in the session.
The traditional angvastras in place of colonial gowns donned by the graduates were prepared by the students under earn while learn scheme. Justice (Retd.) Sh. N.K. Sud, Vice President DAVCMC blessed and congratulated the degree holders. He advised the students to not to present a picture of unrest but set examples of success for others to follow. It is their responsibility to choose the right path and be the makers of their future on their own. Sh. Arvind Ghai, Sect. DAVCMC also called upon the students to exhibit patience and discipline in their conduct. He wished them luck to become  successful and good citizens of the country.
In his convocation address the Chief Guest Sh. S.R. Gaur (Retd. IAS) extolled and appreciated the growth of excellence depicted by HMV and called it a college full of multiplicity, vibrancy and robustness. He exhorted the students to work hard for achievement of their goals as there is no substitute to hard work. The degree holders should carry forward the legacy of DAV traditions and delve deep into the details of the things. Foremost they should have belief in their selves. Concluding on an optimistic note he recited a couplet from his book. The event then witnessed the release of HMV News. The students enjoyed the thumping beats of a folk song and a patriotic dance. The vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Pawan Gupta. Principal Dr. Sareen congratulated the conveners of the conference Mrs. Mamta and Mrs. Deepshikha. The stage was masterly conducted by Dr. Anjana Bhatia. The ceremony concluded with the recital of National Anthem.
