Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya
organized the Annual Awards Day to honour the students for their stupendous
achievements in the academic session 2018-19 under the vibrancy of Principal
Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. The chief guest of the event was Hon’ble Lt.
Governor of Puducherry Dr. Kiran Bedi. The event was graced
by elite dignitaries from the Justice (Retd.) Sh. N.K. Sud, Vice President
DAVCMC and Chairman Local Managing Committee, Sh. Arvind Ghai Sect., DAVCMC,
Local Managing Committee members, eminent personalities of the town and
Principles of DAV institutions.
The event began with the pious
lighting of the lamp followed by the recital of National Anthem and DAV
Gaan. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay
Sareen accorded a green welcome to Hon’ble Dr Kiran Bedi. Dr. Kanwaldeep , Dean
Academics and head girls presented planters to the dignitaries on the Dias.
In the welcome address, Dr. Ajay
Sareen gave a luminous introduction to the multi-faceted personality to
esteemed Dr. Kiran Bedi. She congratulated the young achievers as the day
marked a celebration of their wondrous achievements. She highlighted the noble
mission of the institution to educate girl for shaping and paving their future
and hence build a stronger nation. She read the Annual report reflecting the
unprecedented achievements of the institution. She concluded raising the slogan
“Beti Bachao, Beti Padao, Beta Samjhao and Bujurag Apnao”.Around 244 students
were honoured for their success in various fields. A total of 63 gold medals,
32 silver medals and 13 bronze medals were presented to the academic
achievements. Presenting her presiding address Hon’ble Governor Dr. Kiran Bedi
exhorted the real challenges of life. They should not be content with little
sprints but even the marathon of life with courage. Students receive education
in a sheltered environment competition. She asked the girls to pose a war
against the redundant traditions. The students have won medals for their
brilliance and they need to stand up against all odds. The society needs
equality of gender, a balanced relationship where no boundaries are fixed. She
Advised the students to be courageous and decision makers and face challenges boldly.
Justice Sh. N.K. Sud honoured Hon’ble
Dr. Kiran Bedi by calling her an epitome of courage and success. The event also
witnessed the release of a unique app HMVE-Sathi for student’s safety.
The formal vote of thanks was presented by Sh. Arvind Ghai. The Awards Day was
co-ordinated by Mrs. Kranti and Ms. Shallu Batra. The stage was conducted by
Dr. Anjana Bhatia. The students performed a patriotic dance and the day
concluded with National Anthem. On this occasion Sh. Kundan Lal Aggarwal, Sh.
S.N. Mayor, Advocate Ashok Pruthi, Dr. Pawan Gupta, Mrs. Prunima Beri, Sh. S.P.
Sehdev, Sh. A.L. Dhawan, Sh. Ashok
