The PG
Department of Fashion Designing organized an Educational visit to SURAJKUND – Delhi, for the students of
Fashion Designing (under DDU Kaushal Kendra) under the dynamic guidance of
Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. Total 27 students of Fashion Designing
participated in the visit. Students
visited Surajkund Craft Fair which is located in Faridabad. A splash of colors,
rhythm of drum – beats at Surajkund in Faridabad. At least 20 countries and all the states of
India participated in the mela. More than a million visitors attended this
annual fair and crafts festivals where painters, weavers, sculptors and crafts people
from around the country displayed their wares. Students saw Handcrafted goods
that showed the expert craftsmanship and creativity of the people belonging to
different states and countries. Vibrant folk performances, skits or plays
performed by the youth, the colors and crafty look of the mela that displayed
the heritage of theme. It was overall great time in Surajkund Mela. Next day,
students visited NATIONAL CRAFTS MUSEUM
in New Delhi, a nice place to study about Indian, Handcrafts and textile
tradition. Craft museum had a permanent gallery dedicated to Indian textiles
and textiles and Hand- looms, Indian architecture. After that students visited INDIA GATE and enjoyed
shopping. Faculty members Ms. Surbhi Sharma, Ms. Deepika Miglani, Ms.
Harpreet & Ms. Jyoti accompanied the
students for the trip. The efforts of the Department were appreciated by Madam
Principal.
