The second day of Two Day International Punjabi Sahit Utsav
organised in collaboration with Punjab Sahit Academy under the able guidance of
Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen, witnessed enthusiastic participation from
paper presenters and delegates.
The sessions began on a traditional note with the lighting
of lamp and recital of DAV Anthem. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen
presented planters to the honorable guests Sh. Varinder Walia, Editor, Punjabi
Jagran and Sh. Darshan Singh Dhillon from U.K. based on the theme of Brain
Drain, the panelists of the session included Dr. Rajenderpal Singh Brar, Dr.
Surjit Singh, Dr. Mohan Tyagi, Dr. Rajneesh Bahadur Singh and Moderator Dr.
Neetu Arora.
A parallel session with Sh. Kirpal Kazak was chaired by renowned
novelist Sh. Nachattar and Dr. Harjodh Singh was the special guest. The second
session was chaired by Sh. Des Raj Kali, Editor Lakeer in which Sh. Raj Kumar
Hans from Maharaja Saya Ji Rao University Baroda was the honorable guest, Sh.
Kawaljeet Dhillon, Sh. Sukhdarshan Nat, Sh. Makhan Maan and Dr. Sandeep Singh
formed the panel with Dr. Devinder Kumar was the moderator. A parallel
interactive session with eminent author Dr. Varyaam Singh Sandhu was chaired by
Dr. Harbhajan Singh Bhatia, Prof. GNDU Amritsar and Dr. Bhim Inder Singh
Panjabi University, Patiala was the guest of the occasion.
The valedictory session was persuaded by Justice (Retd.) Sh.
N.K. Sud (Chairman DAVCMC, New Delhi) and was accorded a green welcome by
Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. Dr. Sareen congratulated the Punjabi
Department for the successful conduct of the Sahit Utsav and hoped that such
events will be organized in future as well, so that we can contribute towards
promotion of the language. Justice (Retd.) Sh. N.K. Sud conveyed his best wishes to the institution and prayed
for its success in every Endeavour.
The session was chaired by Dr. Sarabjit Kaur Sohal and Dr.
Rawel Singh initiated the discussion on future of literature and corporate mind
set up. Dr. Kuldeep Deep moderated the discussion. Documentaries on renowned
authors were showcased along with painting exhibition the Book exhibition
received huge response from the participants. Authors also released their new
books on the occasion. The vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Satish Kumar
Verma. The organizers Dr. Sarbjit Singh Sohal and Mrs. Navroop Kaur extended
their wishes and thanks to the guests and delegates. The members of department
Mrs. Veena Arora, Mr. Satinder Kaur, Dr. Sandeep Kaur, Dr. Mandeep Kaur, Ms.
Manpreet Kaur and Ms. Pawandeep Kaur were also present on the occasion. The
stage was conducted by Mrs. Kuljit Kaur.
