International Webinar on “Recent Trends in Mathematics ” organized at HMV

 

The PG department of Mathematics of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya organized an international webinar on the topic “Recent Trends in Mathematical Sciences” under the aegis of Internal Quality Assurance Cell of the college.

Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen welcomed them. She said that in this tough time of pandemic, being creative is the need of the hour. We must enhance our creativity by utilizing this time properly. Webinar series coordinator Dr. Ramnita Saini Sharda gave a brief introduction of the college and welcomed all guests and participants. Mrs. Gagandeep, Head of Mathematics department was coordinator and moderator, Assistant Professor Mrs.  Deepali was co-coordinator and Dr. Gaurav Verma was moderator for this webinar. Webinar coordinator and HOD of the department, Mrs.  Gagandeep welcomed delegates and participants. She also introduced resource persons for the day. Madam Gagandeep paid her regard and gratitude to Dr.  Punam Suri, Padma Shree Awardee,  President DAVCMC, New Delhi, Sh. Shiv Raman Gaur, IAS (Retd.), Director Higher Education DAVCMC, New Delhi, Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen, IQAC coordinator Dr.  Kanwaldeep and webinar series coordinator Dr.  Ramnita Saini Sharda for providing such a platform. There were three resource persons for the day. The first one was Dr. Andie de Villiers, Lecturer in Division of Applied Mathematics, Faculty of Science, University of Stellenbosch, South Africa. She delievered a talk on the topic “Modelling fluid structure interaction using finite elements. Dr. Jitender Singh, Assistant Professor in Department of Mathematics, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar was next resource person and spoke on the topic “From Calculus to cohomology”. Dr. Lakhveer Kaur, Assistant Professor of Mathematics at Jaypee Institute of Information Technology, Noida was the third resource person and delivered a lecture on “Analytic Study of Non-Linear Partial; Differential Equations using symmetry Methods”.  All the lectures were rich in knowledge and very helpful for students, researchers and faculty members.

All the experts have contributed their best and astonishing experience. The vote of thanks was delivered by HOD, department of mathematics Mrs. Gagandeep. On the behalf of the mathematics department, she extended a very hearty vote of thanks to resource persons who blessed us with their presence and took out valuable time from their busy schedule. She also mentioned sense of appreciation for Technical coordinator Mr. Jagjit Bhatia and his whole team for their support.
