Under the able guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen,
students from Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya participated enthusiastically in Trash
to Treasure contest of Municipal Corporation of Jalandhar and came up with
many innovative and creative ideas. Riddhi prepared the bed of Lord Krishna
from waste material in her home. Her efforts were immensely appreciated by
Municipal Corporation. Simranjeet prepared a painted dress from old clothes
where as students of fashion designing prepared designer accessories from rags
trash and paper waste. Harmanpreet created beautiful decorative pieces from
waste material. Her models were appreciated by one and all. The newspaper doll
prepared by Ishpreet was also selected by MCJ Jalandhar as a unique idea.
Sargam upcycled waste material and gave a true example of treasure from trash.
Under the guidance of Mrs. Meenakshi Sayal, students of HMV Collegiate Sr. Sec.
School also wholeheartedly participated with unique ideas and gave inspiration
to others regarding recycling, reducing and reusing the stuff so that minimum
waste is generated Neha Walia from
Fashion Design Department prepared a flower pot and Avleen Kaur made wall
hanging. Madam Navneeta prepared dresses from waste and Mr. Shailendra gave
artistic touch to trash and converted it into treasure. Astha, Nisha and Neha
also prepared rugs, slippers and flower pots by upcycling. Ritika, Shweta and
Muskan Kataria also contributed in this mission. In fact, Muskan created a mini
garden out of waste products. Shrishti Gupta and Ridhi also made appreciable
efforts.
