Bioinformatics students of HMV brought laurels to the institution


 The alumnae of PG Bioinformatics Department of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya got
placement on various posts and brought laurels to the college. Km. Isha Monga did her
graduation and post graduation in Bioinformatics from Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya. She
said that it is only because of guidance of the department that she has attained such position.
After doing her Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, she is working as computational biologist in the
department of Dermatology, Columbia University, U.S.A. Km. Romika is an alumnae of the
department. She completed a major research project thesis at the prestigious Jawarharlal Nehru
University, New Delhi while doing M.Sc. Bioinformatics. She is working as postdoctoral
researcher at Institute for moleculer medicine Finland, University of Helsinki. She said that HMV
gave wings to her passion and with the guidance of my teachers, she achieved such a position.
Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen congratulated both the alumnae & the department.
She said that Bioinformatics department is continuously involved in research work. Head of
department Dr. Harpreet Singh said that Bioinformatics as a course is very multifaceted opening
various opportunities to students either to follow a career in academia or as a data scientist in
various non-academic career fronts. On this occasion Mrs. Purnima was also present.
