Webinar on the topic : Significance of Constitution Day in India


 

To Commemorate the unique constitution of the framers of the constitution, the Post-Graduate Department of Political Science celebrated 71st  Constitution Day at Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya organized a Webinar on the topic “Significance of Constitution Day in India”.

The Webinar was hosted by Mrs. Alka Sharma, Asstt. Prof. who commenced by expressing gratitude towards our Chief Patron Dr. Punam Suri, Padmashree Awardee, President DAVCMC & Patron Sh. Shiv Raman Gaur, IAS (Retd.) Director Higher Education, DAVCMC. This was followed by the blessing from the Almighty in the form of Gayatri Mantra. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen accorded a warm welcome to the Chief Guest of the occasion, Principal Dr. Neeru Sharma from Pt. Mohan Lal S.D. College For Women, Gurdaspur. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen emphasized on the need of being aware of rights as well as duties prescribed in the Indian Constitution. She exclaimed that the day marked the dawn of a new era and gave us the Constitution which is the framework for political principles, procedure and power of the Government.

The Webinar started with Principal Dr. Neeru Sharma’s wonderful insight into the significance of Indian Constitution. She defined Constitution as a set of written principles and precedents of Government of India that frames fundamental political principle, procedures, right, directive principles and duties of the government and the citizens of the country. Dr. Neeru Sharma urged the students to abide by the Constitution and feel proud to be a citizen of a great country.  Ms. Ishpreet read the text of the preamble of Indian Constitution. Towards the end Mrs. Nita Malik, Head of Political Science Department extended the vote of thanks to all those who made this Webinar a resounding Success.
