Department alongwith Red Cross Society of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya under
the able guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen organized various Competitions
on World AIDS Day. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen congratulated
the Zoology Department for taking the initiative for spreading awareness amongst
community. Dr Seema Marwaha, Head of Zoology Department welcomed all the
students and enlightened them about the dreadful disease AIDS and its current
scenario in our country. Mrs. Meenakshi Sayal, School Coordinator guided
students that Red Ribbon is symbol of awareness and one must provide support
for those living with HIV. She further stressed upon the need to create
awareness regarding AIDS and motivate the students to follow healthy practices
in life. Dr. Deepshikha, Incharge of Red Cross Society also appreciated
the efforts of the students
Online
competitive events such as Slogan Writing, Poster Making and Power Point Presentation
were organized. Around 50 students from all streams participated in the event. In
Slogan Writing, Nishtha, SSC+1 Medical got 1st prize, Naina, SSC+1
Medical got 2nd prize, Purwashi SSC+1 Medical and Tania SSC+1 Medical
got 3rd prize, appreciation to Manjot SSC+2 Medical. In Poster Making
Jessica, SSC+1 Medical got 1st prize, Ambreen SSC+1 Medical got 2nd prize, Chetna SSC+1 Arts got 3rd
prize appreciation to Prerna SSC+2 Medical, Tanya Anand SSC+2 Medical and Harpreet
SSC+1 Medical. Winners of Power Point Presentation were Lisha Juneja SSC+2
Commerce got 1st prize and Khushi SSC+ 2 Commerce got 2nd
prize. Miss Avantika Randev, was convenor of the whole function and guided
students for participation in all activities. Dr Sakshi Verma hosted the event
and announced the prize winners and showed the Power Point Presentation. Mr.
Ravi Kumar showed a Video Film regarding HIV virus and posters made by all
participants. The function was concluded with vote of thanks. Mr. Sachin of the
department was also present.
