In order to provide platform to students to gain
substantial experience, showcase their talent, analyze and evaluate outcomes
HMV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School organized Inter School Competition “Aayam-2020”
under the benevolent leadership of
Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. The event was organized with a view to
provide opportunity to the budding young
learners to step out of their comfort zone and build up confidence that will go
a long way to help them navigating a fiercely competitive world. The event
commenced with traditional lamp lighting ceremony followed by the recital of
Gayatri Mantra. Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen hailed formal welcome to the worthy Chief
Guest Dr. Varinder Bhatia, Vice Chairman, Punjab School Education Board. She
expressed her heartfelt gratitude for presiding over the event. She further
appreciated the joint efforts for organizing this competition and motivated
students to participate in such competitions as it is essential to gain
experience that enables them to win with grace, respect the opponest and enjoy
their win with right spirit. School Coordinator Mrs. Meenakshi Syal briefed
about the idea of organizing the competition. She mentioned that the event is
specifically aimed to enable students to explore their hidden potential in
present scenario of cut throat competition and she appreciated the students
overwhelming response for participating enthusiastically. Dr. Varinder Bhatia,
the prestigious guest of the event felt elated over the ardous efforts put in
by the students. He also informed students that competitions are closely
related to education and indeed the development of hidden skills is impossible
without such competition. The students learnt a great deal of knowledge and
experience by participating in the competition. Students participated in wide
range of activities like Declamation Competition, Quiz, Rangoli, Poster-Making, Slogan Writing, Dance,
Singing, Power Point Presentation, Mehandi Competition etc. Around 615 Students
from 43 schools of Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Nawanshehar, Hoshiarpur, Ludhiana,
Batala and Gurdaspur District participated in this competition. In Declamation
Competition, first position was bagged by DAV Public School, Pakhowal,
Ludhiana, DRV DAV Centenary Public School, Phillauir and Police DAV Public
School, Jalandhar won backeted second position and Atam Devki Niketan School,
Ludhiana won third position in category A. And in category B, first position
was bagged by Police DAV Public, Jalandhar, Atam Devki Niketan School, Ludhiana
and Police DAV Public School, Ludhiana and Police DAV Public School, Jalandhar
secured second positions together and DRB DAV Contenary Public School Batala
and BSF Sr. Sec. School, Jalandhar won bracketed third position. In Quiz
Competition (category A), Swami Sant Dass Public School, Jalandhar won first
position, second bracketed position was bagged by Swami Sant Dass School,
Jalandhar and Sainik School, Kapurthala, Police DAV Public School, Jalandhar
won third position. In Collage Making Police DAV Public School won first position,
Lala Jagat Narain DAV Public School, Jalandhar won Second position and Swami
Sant Dass Public School won third position. In Advertisement Competition BSF
Sr. Sec. School won first position, HMV Collegiate School won second position
and Police DAV, Jalandhar won third position, In PowerPoint Competition Police
DAV Public School Jalandhar won first position, DIPS Suranussi won second and
third position consecutively. In Singing Competition category B DAV Pakhowal
Ludhiana got first position, HMV Collegiate School won second position, Police
DAV Public School got third position, In Mehandi Competition Shree Parvati Jain
School bagged first position, HMV Collegiate School won second position and
DIPS Bhogpur won third position. The ledious task of judgement was performed by
Dr. Pooja Manhas, Ms. Shilpa, Mrs. Divya Chadha, Ms. Nisha Sharma, Mrs. Upma
Gupta, Ms. Sukriti, Ms. Avantika, Ms. Amarjeet, Dr. Rakhi Mehta. Mrs. Gurdeep,
Mrs. Protima, Mrs. Anuradha, Ms. Arvinder and Mrs. Jaspreet Kaur. Winners were
awarded with e-certificates through virtual platform. Ms. Nisha and Ms. Richa
were the event incharges. Mrs. Jaspreet Kaur was the moderator of the event.
