Under
the able guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen HMV Hostel
celebrated “Dhiyan Di Lohri” with full enthusiasm. The motive of this
festival was to upgrade the position of women in society. The students
presented cultural progarmme on this occasion.
Principal
Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen congratulated all the hostelers on the occasion of
Lohri and said that HMV is always working towards women empowerment. This
institution has always stressed on the need of holistic growth of women &
will continue to do so. Many girls are working on respectable positions in
society who are the alumnae of this great institution.
Mrs.
Meenakshi Syal (Coordinator Resident Scholar) also addressed the students and
told them about the historical aspect of this festival. She said that this
festival is a symbol of bravery & truth. She said that main motive behind
celebrating Dhiyan Di Lohri is to inculcate such qualities in them so
that they can change the thinking of society towards them.

the future. On this occasion, Non-teaching staff members Mrs. Kiran, Ms.
