In yet another initiative for Swachh Bharat Campaign, Plastic Bottle Crusher Machine has been installed at Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya in collaboration with Municipal Corporation Jalandhar. It is a first of its kind project in the city. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen said that the crusher would help in recycling plastic waste. It would also help in reducing the volume of waste generated and thus will help in effective waste management. The crushing of used water bottles will also ensure that the bottles are not used beyond the shelf life of its plastic. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen thanked Commissioner Municipal Corporation Sh. Karnesh Sharma for the collaborative efforts and said that such steps would help in sustainable development. She acknowledged the efforts of interim team leader Sh. Surjit and informed that the machine is capable of crushing & storing around 2000 bottles & cans every day.
