Hans Raj Mahila Maha
Vidyalaya, the premier institute of North India has been
awarded with the prestigious ASSOCHAM Education Excellence Institute of
the year Award for Multimedia and Animation. The award is aimed
at recognizing the excellent contribution of the institution in fostering
affordable quality education and taking initiatives for nurturing an atmosphere
of excellence.
The award was presented by
Sh. Vinay Prabhakar Sahasrabuddhe, Member of Parliament, President, Indian
Council for Cultural Relations to Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. The award
was bestowed during 14th National Education Summit & Annual Excellence Award
2021 on NEP 2020 – Transforming Educational Landscape of the Nation and carving
a Road Map for Implementation. The three-day summit was inaugurated by Sh.
Ramesh Pokhriyal, Honourable Education Minister, Government of India in
presence of Prof. Ashutosh Sharma, Secretary Department of Science &
Technology, Prof Anil D. Sahasrabudhe, Chairman, AICTE, Dr. Amarendra Pani, Joint Director (Research)
Association of Indian Universities and Vineet Agarwal, President ASSOCHAM
and Managing Director TCI Ltd. Among the dignitaries
present were Prof. VS Chauhan, Chairman, Executive Committee National
Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC),
Prof. G.D. Sharma, Former Secretary, UGC, Mr. Yuvraj Malik, Director,
National Book Trust , India and a galaxy of other educationalists.
The institution was
rewarded for its achievements in Higher Educational Sector and received special
honour for its contributions in Excellence in Multimedia and Animation. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen said
that Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya has become the first institution
of Punjab and first women institution to receive this
award. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Sareen thanked Hon’ble President
DAV College Managing Committee Padmashri Awardee Dr. Punam Suri for his
guidance and continuous support and also congratulated Coordinator Mr Jagjit Bhatia, Mr Ashish
Chadha, Head, Project Coordinator Dr Anjana Bhatia, faculty, staff and students
for the achievement.
