The Commerce Club of PG Department of Commerce and
Management of Hans Raj Mahila MahaVidyalaya organized Think Strategicall – A
Business Plan Competition with a tag line - An idea can change your life. What
is your idea? under the able
guidance and motivation of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen who has been
constant support behind organizing such events. It has been first offline
competition by the department post COVID-19, where students participated with
full zeal. Mrs. Binoo Gupta, Incharge Commerce Club & Incharge Alumnae
Association, Dr. Seema Khanna, Incharge Coaching in CA Foundation, Mrs. Shefali
Kashyap and Dr. Jaspreet Kaur from Commerce Department were part of organizing
team. The event was judged by Dr. Kanwaldeep, Officiating Principal, Head of
Department Commerce and Management, Dean Academics, Coordinator IQAC and Mrs. Meenu Kohli, Co-Dean Youth Welfare
Committee. The event had live coverage by Mr. Vidhu Vohra and Arvind
Chandi. As per the tradition of HMV to
seek blessings of Almighty, the event started with DAV Gaan. Mrs. Binoo Gupta gave warm welcome to the
guests and students and told them that they are fortunate to get such a
platform where they have been given the opportunity to put their integrated
learning into practice. The objective of the event was to bring about the idea
can change the lives by inculcating entrepreneurial ability among students. She
told three success stories of Bhavik Aggarwal-Founder of OLA CABS, BYJU’S –An
online Education platform, and of Phalguni Nayyar- Founder of NYKA who all are
aspiring entrepreneurs who are having self confidence and risk taking attitude and keen
entrepreneurial skills which is need of the hour. The students presented their
business plans with the help of ICT tools on different products namely- Trash
It- Crash It, Book my Aunty, Braitterrs, Take part in Art..My Arty Heart, Live
Free- Care Free, PEN- Protection Electronic
Network. The idea behind this was to give students a motivation to start their own
entrepreneurial venture and to generate employment for the same. Dr. Kanwaldeep
addressed the students by telling the importance about teacher- student bonding
that creates a uniqueness of teaching as noble profession. She highlighted
strengths and weaknesses of each team and told that business plan should be
innovative, strategically designed with keeping in consideration legal aspects
and funding criteria. First prize was won by Team PEN headed by Nandika and
Tarandeep, Second prize- Book My Aunty by Vidhi and Lakshita, Third prize by
two teams- Braitters by Radhika and Namrata ,
Trash It- Crash It by Jyot Sifat and Sonamdeep Kaur. All the winners
were given trophies and e- certificates. Principal Prof. Dr. Sareen
congratulated the winners and the organizers of the
event. During the event Riya of B.Voc Sem
3, Digital Marketing shared that she has
been already running a successful
entrepreneurial venture- Trendi Fashion, an online business of Shoes for
Girls and is having Facebook page too where she get numerous orders. The stage
was beautifully conducted by Dr. Jaspreet Kaur and students assistants-
Radhika & Jyot Sifat. Vote of thanks
was given by Dr. Seema Khanna and she told students that all are winners and
gave her blessings to the students. She thanked the technical team, organizing
team, and all those who contributed in making the event successful. The faculty members Mrs. Deepshikha, Dr.
Harpreet, Mrs.Meenu Kundra, Mrs. Kajal Puri, Mrs.Savita Mahendru, Dr. Minakshi
Duggal, Mrs. Protima graced the occasion by their presence.
