The Post Graduate Punjabi Department of Hans Raj
Mahila Maha Vidyalaya celebrated International Mother Language Day under the
able guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. On this occasion an
oath was taken to write in Punjabi and read in Punjabi. Painting Exhibition was
also organised in which Posters made by students on Punjabi Language were
displayed. In addition, students also displayed projects related to Punjabi
Culture and Language. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen gave her consent
to write the names of all the departments/buildings of the college in Punjabi
language. She also encouraged the students to adopt Punjabi language in day to
day working.
During this ceremony, the students who secured good
positions in exams and the students who did good projects in Punjabi language,
were honoured. These students were Sandeep Kaur, Deepika, Suman and Shelly. The
stage was conducted by Mrs. Kuljeet Kaur, Incharge Sahitya Sabha. On this
occasion Mrs. Veena Arora, Mrs. Satinder Kaur, Dr. Mandeep Kaur, Dr. Sandeep
Kaur & other faculty members were also present.
The students of HMV Collegiate Senior Secondary School
and BPES also participated in this exhibition. Head of Punjabi Department Mrs.
Navroop encouraged students to use Punjabi Language in routine working. Staff
Secretary Dr. Seema Khanna, Sh. Pankaj Jyoti, Sh. Lakhwinder Singh, Sh. Ravi
Maini and faculty & staff members were present there.
