HMV Celebrated Foundation Day

      






With a sense of rare pride, honour and cheerful exuberance Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya hold 2nd day of its three days celebrations to mark the occasion of its 95th Foundation Day under the sagacious and dynamic guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. First day saw the launching of IIC Web Page and plantation of medicinal herbs continuing the celebrations the second day started with Havan Yajna with Joint Commissionar, Municipal Corporation, Jalandhar S. Harcharan Singh as chief guest, Ms. Beenu Rajput, Director of documentary films and Govt. of India’s Ambassador for Fit India Movement. Mrs. Vani Vij, Director Dainik Savera, Dr. Pawan Gupta, Mr. Ashok Pruthi and Mr. S.P. Sahdev members of Local Committee also graced the vedic prayer. Other members present were Dean Academics Dr. Kanwadeep Kaur, Dean Vedic Studies Mrs. Mamta, Mr. Sardarjit Bawa, Retd. Senior Producer from Doordarshan and Ms. Seema Soni and RJ Himanshu from Radio City. After  the Havan Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen welcomed the Chief Guest and other dignitaries. Dr.  Ajay  Sareen recalled the services of all past principals with a deep sense of gratitude and also appreciated the dedicated contribution of teaching, non-teaching, supporting staff and students. She recognized the concerted efforts of team HMV has made it a flagship college with an unparalleled position as a college of excellance honoured by Assocham, FICCI and many others. Well rooted in tradition the college is marching ahead taking all challenges in its stride. HMV’s academic platform of e-learning is open for society. She reiterated the message of President Padamshree Dr. Punam Suri- Arya Bano, Shrehth Bano. She also conveyed the message of Justice (Retd.) Sh. N.K. Sud, Chairman, Local Committee to imbibe good thoughts and wished good health to all. She felt honoured to share that NCC Headquarter has given the responsibility to maintain Statue of Swami Vivekananda Ji at HMV Chowk to our NCC Officer Lt. Sonia Mahendru. S. Harcharan Singh, Joint Commissioner, in his presidential remarks, praised the college for dispensing its social duties excellently and for making its students empowered women to lead the society successfully. He wished a brilliant and bright future to the college in all its initiatives under the able guidance and direction of Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen. Mrs. Vani Vij congratulated Principal on 95th Foundation Day  and gave her best wishes. HMV alumnae Ms. Beenu Rajput renowned Filmmaker of Delhi has been selected as “Fit India Ambassador” and “Fit India Champion”, in Sports Authority of India and under her banner Beenu Rajput Films, she organized Ist Run for Lives 2021 in collaboration with HMV to promote fitness in daily routine. Dean Academics Dr. Kanwaldeep Kaur was presented a cheque by Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen for the welfare of weak students. Prof. Kuljit Kaur’s book “Boonda Banan Samunder” was released on this occasion. An e-app of Biodiversity which has the digital data of all plantation of our college was also launched with the joint efforts of Botany and Computer Department Mr. Jagjit Bhatia, Dr. Anjana Bhatia, Mrs. Ramandeep Kaur and team was present. School Coordinator Mrs. Meenakshi Sayal and publication team comprising of Mrs. Lovleen, Mrs. Jaspreet, Mr. Sushil Kumar and Mrs. Anuradha Thakur released school magazine “Srijan” and school prospectus. Department of Commerce and Department of Design promoted the young entrepreneur Neha and Nandika from Commerce and Simranjit from B.Design by exhibiting their artwork RUN for Lives was completed at HMV Chowk with a message to do 30 minutes exercise daily. Continuing the legacy of Innovation, HMV’s  Mass Communication department launched its Internet Radio “Awaaz”. The  launching was done by legendary Punjabi Singer Mr. Firoz Khan. He appreciated the efforts of the college & department and encouraged the faculty to achieve higher in the field of Radio. This whole event was organised under the guidance of Coordinator Dr. Kanwaldeep Kaur and Co-coordinator Dr. Anjana Bhatia.
