HMV observed World Mental Health Day

 



Freudian Psychological Society of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar observed World Mental Health Day under the able guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. The event was organized by the department of Psychology to create awareness regarding mental health. The theme was “Normalizing the Mental Stigma”. The event started with DAV Gaan. The students under the guidance of faculty, Head of Department Dr. Ashmeen Kaur and Ms. Harman presented skits, speeches, poetry and posters for creating awareness. Various mental health issues like Generalized, anxiety disorders, conduct disorder, eating disorder, depression, schizophrenia etc. were shown through small skits. Students also shared their personal experience relating to mental health. Awareness regarding mental health issues, their therapeutic treatment and significance of counseling were also emphasized in the acts, poetry and speeches. Dr. Ashmeen Kaur, Head of Department gave tips regarding keeping positive mental health and normalizing the mental stigma and also gave vote of thanks. The stage was conducted by Kritigyata, Harshita and Parul (final year students). The event was graced by the presence of Mrs. Navroop, Head of Punjabi Department, Mrs. Mamta, Head of English Department, Mrs. Ritu Bajaj and others. The event ended with National Anthem.
