Vedic Chetna Shivir at HMV
The Vedic Adhyayan Society and Sanskrit
Department of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar organized a Vedic
Chetna Shivir for the resident scholars of the college. More than 100 students
participated in the Shivir. The students were made aware about Moral Values,
good behaviour, Yoga and our ancient Vedas. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay
Sareen addressed the students & said that the motive of our institution is
not only to provide bookish knowledge to the students but to provide them value
based education and good attitude so that they can achieve greater heights in
their life. The Resource Person of the first day was Dr. Anup Vats, Principal
KRM DAV College, Nakodar. Coordinator Mrs. Meenakshi Sayal and Head of Sanskrit
Department Dr. Meenu Talwar shared their views with students regarding the need
of Vedic Chetna Shivir in present times. Dr. Anup Vats told the students that
balance is very important in life. To maintain this balance, physical fitness,
mental fitness and emotional stability are very essential. He said that these students
are very lucky to be a part of this great institution of DAV. Yogacharya Sh.
Dheeraj Kumar told the students about various Yoga Asans and gave them
practical knowledge too. Coordinator Mrs. Meenakshi Sayal thanked them. On
third day, social worker Mrs. Parveen Abrol told them that patience is very
important in our life. Hard work pays off in near future. We all should work
hard in our life. Dr. Meenu Talwar organized a Vedic quiz for the students.
Next day Mrs. Binoo Gupta from Commerce Department and Mrs. Protima Mander from
History Department organized innovative games for the students. The Chief Guest
was Sh. Kundan Lal Aggarwal. Havan Yajna was performed by Dr. Meenu Talwar.
Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen congratulated the organizers for the
successful Shivir. Mrs. Meenakshi Sayal presented report of the Shivir. On this
occasion, Dean Vedic Studies Mrs. Mamta, Supdt. A/c Mr. Pankaj Jyoti, Supdt. Admin
Mr. Ravi Maini, faculty members, Hostel Warden Mrs. Kiran, Mrs. Narinder were
also present. Stage was conducted by Dr. Meenu Talwar. Mrs. Mamta, Dean Vedic
Studies presented Vote of Thanks.
