The students
of HMV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School won 2nd position at State Level in
Wipro Earthian Educator Programme. The students of SSC-I Manreet Thind, Gurleen
Kaur, Tanisha Ghai and Jasmeen Kaur participated in the competition. Wipro
Earthian is one of India’s largest programmes regarding environment
sustainability. The students of HMV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School presented their
project under Solid Waste Management themed “Study on Sustainability and Waste
in and Around Our Locality.” In this programme, students performed various
activities well as well as they got opportunity to interact with different
community members then collect and analyse the data and finally come to
solutions to tackle this problem. The Wipro Earthian Programme acknowledged the
immense contribution of the Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen and honoured
her with certificate of appreciation. The School Coordinator Mrs. Meenakshi
Sayal received certificate and I-Card for her valuable assistance in it. The
team was provided with certificates and furthermore the guide teacher Ms.
Vandana Sethi (Chemistry Department) was appreciated with honorarium. Principal
Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen congratulated the team of HMV Collegiate School
and encouraged the students to keep on participating in these kinds of events
and activities which contribute to make sustainability in environment. School
Coordinator said that these kind of initiatives mark the positive contribution
of the students towards the betterment of society, they learn practical
knowledge which help in their holistic development. She also congratulated the
whole team and guide teacher Ms. Vandana Sethi.
