Under
the able guidance of Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen, Model Pink Booth was
inaugurated at Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar by Hon’ble Sh.
Ghanshyam Thori, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Jalandhar in presence of Mrs.
Aashika Jain, ADC (UD) and Sh. Ojasawi Alankar Asstt. Commissioner (UT) and Ms.
Gurleen EAC (UT), Mr. Surjit Lal and Dr. Anjana Bhatia, Dean Innovation &
Research, HMV, Jalandhar. The model booth is decorated with flowers, plants,
pink banner, ribbons and paper craft. It is one of the unique noting venues. A
festive welcome will be given to the voters in an all woman managed booth with elegantly
decorated gazebos, red carpets, selfie points, nail art corner, refreshment
arrangements, Verka booth, a waiting lounge with tea vending machine, creche
facility, PWD friendly facilities. Volunteers from HMV task force, NSS and NCC
will be acting as Chon Miltars and have been given special training to help PwD
and elderly voter’s wheel chairs and e-vehicles are also provided. Deputy
Commissioner Sh. Ghanshyam Thori said that all the facilities provided at the
Model Pink Pooling Booth will make voting a very seven and soothing experience
for the voters. Special COVID/isolation room, mediation room, help desk have
also been set up. All COVID precautions like social distance, sanitizers,
dispensing food machines, gloves, masks etc. are being provided at the booth
Deputy Commissioner Thori further said that beautiful paintings, rangoli, queue
Management etc. will give pleasant vibes to the voters. On this occasion,
Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen said that the pink polling booth established at Hans
Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar is a step towards women empowerment and
gender equality and HMV has always been a pioneer in women empowerment
initiatives. Dr. Seema Marwaha, Dean Academics, Mrs. Urvashi Mishra, Dean
Student Council, Ms. Sonia Mahindru and Ms. Harmanu, Dr. Shailendra, Mr. Pankaj,
Mr. Lakhwinder, Mr. Ravi Maini were also present.
