Vidyalaya, Jalandhar went vibrant with festivities, celebrating Baisakhi Mela Lokrang in association with Radio City
and Lakme. The graceful Chief Guest of the occasion was the dynamic
personality, Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. The event began with the
traditional lighting of lamp. Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen conveyed her wishes for
the festival of Baiskahi and said that it holds a significant place in the
festivals of Punjab. She felicitated Mrs. Navroop, Mrs. Rama Sharma, Mr. Ravi
Maini and the organizing team for the spectacular show. The galaxy of guests
included the names of Ms. Anupama Kaler, Additional Chief Administrator,

in the form of Folk Song by Kiranjeet, Question Round on Punjabi Culture,
Fashion Show by Lakme Models and Gidha. Students of HMV also brought forth
mesmerizing performances of Bhangra, Gidha and songs under the guidance of Dr.
Prem Sagar, Dr. Pooja Manhas, Mrs. Savita Mahendru and Dr. Mandeep Kaur. The
hall of Ragini Auditorium was packed to its capacity and resounded with the
cheers of the audience. Pollywood singers Mr. Sarang Vicky and Mr. Mani Maan also thrilled the
students with their melodious voice. The event was telecasted live by TV 99 and
NRI TV. The members of Teaching and Non-Teaching staff enjoyed the event to
their hearts.
