of B.Design of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar celebrated 75 Azadi ka
Amrit Mahatsav by conducting three days weaving workshop in the able guidance
of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. Head of Department, Dr Rakhi Mehta
acted as a Resource Person and explained the importance of Handloom Weaving to
the students. Various types of Weaves used in the Design World for Fabric construction
was discussed in detail and demonstrated during the sessions. Various students
of Design Department and faculty members created woven articles on handloom and
on weaving Frames. New textures, Recycled weaving materials, and styles were
experimented during the workshop. Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen appreciated the
efforts of the students and faculty members. The workshop was end up by vote of
thanks by faculty members Ms. Harpreet Kaur and Mrs. Gurdeep Kaur. A fruitful
workshop concluded with display of woven art works created by students on the
last day.
