Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya celebrated “Punjabi Mah 2022” in association with Bhasha Vibhag, Jalandhar by organizing a “Kavi Darbar” under the dynamic directions of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. The event witnessed the presence of Sh. Raman Arora, MLA, Jalandhar Central as the Chief Guest and was presided by Senior Journalist Sh. Jatinder Pannu.. Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen extended green welcome to Sh. Raman Arora, Sh. Jatinder Pannu, Sh. Satnam Singh, Assistant Director Bhasha Vibhag Patiala, Sh. Parveen Kumar, Dr. Santokh Singh, Sh. Bhagwan Singh, Mrs. Navneet Kaur, Bhasha Vibhag Jalandhar, renowned poets Dr. Navjot Kaur, Principal Lyallpur Khalsa College for Women, Dr. Gopal Butter, Sh. Sandhu Varyanvi, Prof. Kulwant Singh Aujla, Prof. Sardul Aujla, Mrs. Navroop, Mrs. Kuljit Kaur and Dr. Sandeep. Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen offered a warm welcome to the guests and congratulated the Department of Punjabi for making unique efforts for promoting the language. She also mentioned the pioneering initiatives of the institution like offering free Masters Degree in Punjabi and installing sign boards in Punjabi in the campus. Further she remarked that poets not only voice their expressions but also serve to provide the right direction to the youth of the land who are presently engulfed by drugs, violence, stress and misleading ideas. Our youth needs the right stimulation which can aptly be provided by the poets. Sh. Raman Arora initiated the event by reciting few lines of his own and felicitated HMV for organizing the Punjabi Mah and offered his support for promoting Punjabi language. Sh. Sandhu Varyanvi’s beautiful lines summed up the contribution of poets to the society. The poets touched upon varied themes like current situation of Punjab, women upliftment, Martyrdom of Guru Teg Bahadur ji and importance of Punjabi Language. Sh. Sukhdev and Sh. Manoj Phagiarvi also recited their poems and added to the charm of the event. In the presiding remarks, Sh. Jatinder Pannu applauded the efforts of HMV which has always created history in every field. He said that languages serve to link the world into one unit and they learn and adapt from one another. Similarly we learn from every culture but need to keep connected to the roots. There is abundance of talent in the country and we are the ambassadors of our culture so we should not forget to where we belong to. It is the responsibility of youth to save the languages and environment. Bhasha Vibhag Punjab honoured Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen with a Phulkari and a Certificate for her contribution to Punjabi Language. Sh. Jatinder Pannu, Mrs. Navneet and all the poets were also honoured. Sh. Satnam Singh presented vote of thanks. The event was successfully conducted by Mrs. Navroop, Mrs. .Kuljit Kaur, Dr. Sandeep, Ms. Aman, Ms. Parveen and faculty of HMV. A book exhibition and Folk Art Exhibition was also arranged for the students.
