Mahila Maha Vidyalaya Jalandhar, in collaboration with Nari Chetna Welfare
Society (Regd.) Jalandhar celebrated International Women’s Day under the able
guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. The distinguished guests of
the event were Ms. Vatsala Gupta (IPS) DCP Jalandhar and Ms. Gursimranjit Kaur
(PCS) Assistant Commissioner (Gen.) Jalandhar. Nari Chetna Welfare Society
honoured Principal Dr. Sareen for her contribution in the field of education
and social welfare. Principal Dr. Sareen in her address appreciated the
accomplishments of twenty-first century women. She said the events like this
can only be successful if all the women present here would be aware of their
rights and duties. The chief guest Ms. Vatsala Gupta congratulated the audience
on International Women’s Day. She also inspired the women to take their own
decisions in life. Ms. Gursimranjit Kaur
said that modern woman has a chance to choose. On the occasion, the Chairperson
of Nari Chetna Welfare Society Mrs. Kusum Sharma apprised the audience of the
purpose of Nari Chetna. The Secretary Mrs. Sanju Gupta shed light on the
working of Nari Chetna Welfare Society. The Advisor Smt. Manju Sethi explained
the importance of Women’s Day. On this occasion, Women who have achieved fame
in the field of education, sports, fashion, arts and social service. These
included President NGO Pahal Mrs. Harvinder Kaur, writer and poetess Mrs.
Navroop, Principal Sushma Sharma, Prof. Adarsh Parti, media advisor Prof. Navjot
Kaur Sidhu, sports woman Malika Handa, badminton player Smridhi Bhardwaj,
fashion designer Mrs.
Navneeta, makeup artist Mrs. Mukti, dance director Dr. Pooja Minhas, Yoga
teachers Mrs. Anju Sharma and Mrs. Pinki Bedi, Mrs. Binoo Gupta, writer and
poetess Mrs. Kuljit Kaur. The vote of thanks was presented by President Nari Chetna
Welfare Society Mrs. Anju Sharma. On this occasion, Media Advisor Nari Chetna
Welfare Society Ms. Amarjit Kaur, Finance Secretary Anita Bathla, Raman Sharma,
Mrs. Pinki Bedi were also present. Special attraction of the event was the
exhibition of handmade items prepared by Stitching Centre students under the
supervision of Nari Chetna Welfare Society. The students of Music Vocal
Department presented beautiful songs under the guidance of Dr. Prem Sagar.
Simran Kaur and Janhvi recited poems. Stage was conducted by Mrs. Kuljit Kaur
and Mrs. Binoo Gupta.
