Under the able guidance of Principal
Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen, Model Pink Booth was inaugurated at Hans Raj
Mahila Maha Vidyalaya by Hon’ble Sh. Jaspreet Singh, IAS, Deputy Commissioner
of Jalandhar in presence of ADC Irwin, ADC (Gen.) Major Amit Mahajan and Mr.
Surjit Lal. The model booth was decorated with flowers, plants, pink banner,
ribbons and paper craft. It is one of the unique voting venues. A festive
welcome was given to the voters in this booth with elegantly decorated gazebos,
red carpets, selfie points, nail art corner, refreshment arrangements, Verka
Booth, a waiting lounge with tea, creche facility, PWD friendly facilities.
Volunteers from HMV Task Force and NSS acted as Chon Mittras and had been given
special training to help PWD and elderly voter’s wheel chairs. E-vehicles were
also provided. Deputy Commissioner IAS Sh. Jaspreet Singh said that all the
facilities provided at the Model Pink Polling Booth had made rooting and
soothing experience for the voters. Sh. Jaspreet Singh further said that beautiful
paintings, rangoli, Queue Management has given pleasant vilas to the voters. On
this occasion, Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen said that the Pink Polling
Booth established at Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya is a step towards Women
Empowerment and Gender Equality and HMV has always been a pioneer in Women
Empowerment initiatives. On this occasion, Dr. Anjana Bhatia, Dean Innovation
and Research, Mrs. Urvashi Mishra, Dean Student Council, Ms. Sonia Mahendru.
ANO, NCC Army Wing, Mrs. Rama Sharma, Dr. Shaveta Chauhan, Ms. Mukti Arora,
Mrs. Shefali, Mr. Pankaj Jyoti, Mr. Lakhwinder and Mr. Ravi Maini were also
present.
