HMV Organized Kavi Darbaar


The PG Department of Punjabi of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya organized a Kavi Darbaar under the aegis of Language Department, Punjab and Distt. Language Office with the support of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. The Coordinators of the programme were Mrs. Navroop, Head of Punjabi Department and Mrs. Jaspreet Kaur, Distt. Language Officer. The programme started with Language Department song “Dhan Likhari Nanka” and DAV Gaan. On this occasion, Sh. Darshan Buttar, President Sahitya Academy, Ludhiana was the Chief Guest. Special Guests of the occasion were Mrs. Manjeet Indra, Sh. Surinder Sunnar and Dr. Lakhwinder Johal, Chairman Lok Manch Punjab. The guests were welcomed with planters. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen welcomed all the guests and said that Post Graduate Punjabi Department always endeavours to organize such programmes which help in promoting Punjabi Language and Culture. She said that we all should read healthy literature so that right direction can be given to the society. A poet possess the quality to say more in less words. The poets always give useful message to the society through their writings. She also congratulated Head of Department and faculty members of Department. Mrs. Navroop briefed about the activities of the Department and said that the Department will always work for the upliftment of Punjabi literature. Chief Guest Sh. Darshan Buttar presented his poems and encouraged the students to read good literature. Mrs. Manjeet Indra also presented her poems. Sh. Lakhwinder Johal felt honoured to present his poems in a great institution like HMV. Poetic poster of Mrs. Navroop was also released. On this occasion, Amarjeet Kaur Amar, Ritu Vasudev, Dr. Ram Murti, Shehbaaz Khan, Ominder Johal, Naksh Variyanvi,, Jagdish Rana, Mrs. Navroop, Dr. Sandeep Kaur, Manjeet Kaur Meesha presented their poems. Language Department organized exhibition of books. Stage was conducted by Mrs. Kuljit Kaur. Vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Veena Arora  and Mrs. Jaspreet Kaur.
