Installation ceremony of Student Council (2023-24) was held
under the stewardship of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. The ceremony
started with DAV Gaan followed by formal welcome of Chief Guest Principal Dr.
Ajay Sareen by Mrs. Urvashi Mishra, Dean Student Council and Mrs Savita
Mahendru , Co-dean Student Council. Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen addressed the
students and congratulated them on receiving the prestigious offices designated
to them. Badges are symbols of responsibility which help students to
differentiate between good and bad and to discharge their duties with more
efficiency. In her address she motivated
the students to imbibe good qualities like truthfulness, humility and sense of
gratitude to bring positive change in society and nation. She also
highlighted the college’s top facilities, including 28 acres of a lush campus, committed professors,
and first-rate infrastructure. However she insisted that
moral standards and character are something that the younger generation lacks
and need to build so as to emerge as strong and determined human beings with a
sensitive heart. She wished each and every student
should be strong, determined, compassionate, caring and full
of energy. She also
added that every HMV student serves as an ambassador in
the outer world. The Chief Guest, Sukhmandeep, former head girl of the college,
also addressed the students. She insisted on the power of ‘we’ instead of ‘I’
and persuaded students to work in a team for holistic growth of the
institution. She walked down her memory
lane as the former Head Girl of the college, inspiring students to do their
utmost for the institution. Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen, Mrs. Urvashi Mishra,
Dean Student Council, Faculty Heads, Dean Academics Dr. Seema Marwaha, IQAC
coordinator Dr. Ashmeen adorned 316 students with badges. Km. Aditi Sharma and Km. Kriti were adorned as Head Girl PG
and UG of the institution respectively.
18 students were designated with titles of Joint Head girl and Assistant
Head Girl. Student Council also consists of Class Representatives, HMV Task
Force, Secretaries, Joint Secretaries and Assistant Secretaries of various
clubs and societies. On this occasion faculty heads , Incharges of the various societies and
members of student council, Mrs. Jyotika Minhas, Dr Deepali, Ms. Harmanu, Dr.
Jiwan and Mrs. Protima were also
present. Mrs Savita Mahendru , Co- Dean
presented vote of thanks. The event ended with a group photograph of
newly formed student council.
