Vidyalya has organised an Educational Visit to the Care for Autism Foundation,
Jalandhar. The students were welcomed by Mr. Atul Madaan, Clinical Psychologist
and Chief Advisor, Care for Autism and his team at the facility. Mr. Madaan
briefed the students about autism spectrum disorders, early signs, behavioural
factors, identification criterion and how early intervention helps children
better. The students were then shown occupational therapy and multi sensory
rooms and informed about the uses of every equipment present there. Mr. Atul
Madaan discussed the importance and types of therapeutic avenues that are
required for a child under the spectrum of autism. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.)
Ajay Sareen appreciated the efforts of the students for creating awareness and
encouraged them to take part in such visits in the future as well. On this
occasion Dr. Ashmeen Kaur, Head of Psychology Department and Ms. Shruti were
also present.
