Department of English of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya Jalandhar organized a
one-day trip to Naina Devi, Virasat-e- Khalsa, and Anandpur Sahib Gurudwara on
24th February 2024. The primary objective was to provide an
enriching cultural experience for the students. A total of 54 students
enthusiastically participated in the trip, accompanied by Head of English
Department Dr. Mamta, Mr. Neeraj Aggarwal, Mr. Parminder, Ms. Yamini and Ms.
Himani. The trip commenced with a visit to Naina Devi, a sacred Hindu temple
dedicated to Goddess Naina Devi. The students immersed themselves in the
spiritual ambience and enjoyed the picturesque surroundings. The next
destination was Virasat-e-Khalsa, a museum that showcases the rich cultural
heritage of Punjab. Students had the opportunity to explore exhibits depicting
the history, art, and traditions of Punjab, contributing to their academic and
cultural knowledge. The final destination of the trip included a visit to
Anandpur Sahib Gurudwara, a significant Sikh pilgrimage site. The students
experienced the tranquility of the Gurudwara, participated in prayers, and
learned about the historical significance of the place. The one-day trip was a
delightful experience for both students and faculty. It provided a break from
the routine academic environment and allowed participants to bond outside the
classroom. The cultural exposure enhanced their understanding of the diverse
heritage of India. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen commended the efforts
of Dr. Mamta for organizing this trip. She expressed appreciation for the
positive impact of such cultural excursions on the students' overall
