Grand Finale of the Nature Camps Workshop at HMV Jalandhar


 

The three-day residential workshop on "Building Skills for Conducting Nature Camps" concluded on a high note at Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar. Organized in collaboration with the Punjab State Council of Science & Technology (PSCST), the workshop empowered educators to revolutionize environmental education and foster sustainability in their teaching practices. The final day showcased an array of creative and innovative exhibits crafted during the workshop. From visually captivating charts on biodiversity and waste management to self-sustaining terrariums, and intricate leaf art arrangements, the participants displayed their ingenuity. Highlights included insect traps, ant houses, and beautifully compiled nature diaries, reflecting their journey into experiential learning. Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen, in her address, appreciated the participants’ dedication and creativity. “You are not just educators but green ambassadors who will ignite a passion for sustainability in future generations,” she said while presenting handcrafted phulkari gifts as tokens of appreciation. Experts Praise the Workshop's Impact Several distinguished experts shared their thoughts on the initiative: Dr. BK Tyagi: “These exhibits beautifully bridge the gap between nature and the classroom.” Dr. K.S. Bath: “These practical tools embody the essence of experiential learning, encouraging students to explore, question, and cherish the natural world.” Dr. Aashiq Hussain: “This initiative fosters a profound understanding of environmental stewardship, ensuring educators are empowered to mentor the next generation effectively.” Dr. Kuldeep: “By blending creativity with environmental education, we are sowing seeds for a greener, more responsible society.” Dr. Seema Marwaha: “These exhibits are a testament to the transformative power of collaboration and innovation in education.” Dr. Anjana Bhatia, Nodal Officer, emphasized the workshop's hands-on approach, remarking, “These creations demonstrate how teaching tools can inspire students to connect deeply with the environment.” Dr. Mandakini added, “Today’s exhibits prove that meaningful change begins with small, creative steps.” The event concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony and a collective pledge by participants to integrate sustainable practices into their teaching. In her closing remarks, Principal Dr. Sareen stated, “Workshops like these transform educators into catalysts of change, spreading HMV’s green vision far and wide.” The Nature Camps Workshop at HMV has set a precedent for environmental education, empowering educators to lead a movement toward sustainability across Punjab.
