The workshop aimed to deepen the understanding of musical nuances and enhance students' creative expression through Raag-based compositions. The esteemed resource person for the workshop was Prof. C.L. Verma, an eminent scholar, renowned musician, and former Dean & Chairman, Department of Music, Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla. With his vast experience and expertise, he provided invaluable insights into the intricate aspects of Indian classical music. The workshop commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and the Saraswati Vandana, followed by engaging and interactive sessions where students actively participated, refining their vocal techniques and exploring the artistic dimensions of Raag music. Through live demonstrations and discussions, Prof. Verma enriched the participants' knowledge, making the learning process both insightful and inspiring. Besides classical compositions, light music was also explored during the workshop. Prof. Verma shared glimpses of folk singing and group singing with students, providing them with a holistic learning experience that blended tradition with contemporary musical expressions. This workshop was a significant step towards nurturing musical talent and fostering creativity among students, aligning with the institution’s vision of holistic education.
