Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya concluded a memorable and enriching week-long Student Exchange Programme with Nehru Arts and Science College, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, held from 21st to 28th March 2025. Organized under the able guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen and coordinated by Dr. Ramnita Saini Sharda, the programme ended on a nostalgic and heartfelt note. A total of 21 enthusiastic students from Nehru Arts and Science College, accompanied by their mentors, Dr. Smitha C.R., Head of the Malayalam Department and Director of the Centre for Indian Knowledge System, and Ms. R. Malthi, Associate Professor and Head of the English Department as well as Director of the Centre for Culture, Heritage, and Human Excellence, actively participated in the exchange programme. The valedictory function was graced by the esteemed Chief Guest, Sh. Deepak Bali, Advisor to Punjab Heritage and Tourism Promotion Board. He was warmly welcomed by Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. In her address, Dr. Sareen expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the delegates for their active involvement and wished them success in their future endeavours. She highlighted the importance of promoting cultural diversity and emphasized HMV's commitment to fostering such meaningful exchanges. Speaking on the occasion, Sh. Deepak Bali praised India's cultural versatility, emphasizing that languages reflect our identity and should be cherished. He added that the happiness and empowerment of women serve as a true indicator of a nation's growth. Encouraging the students, he remarked that the best fragrance is the fragrance of actions, so keep doing good. As a token of appreciation, Sh. Deepak Bali presented Punjab Panorama to the delegates and Principal Dr. Sareen. Faculty members from Nehru Arts and Science College were honoured with traditional Phulkaris and gifts, while the student delegates were presented with certificates and mementos. Expressing her emotions, Ms. R. Malthi likened leaving HMV to leaving a parental home, acknowledging the immense love and warmth experienced during their stay. The visiting delegates expressed their gratitude for the unforgettable memories created at HMV. They presented traditional symbols to HMV as a token of gratitude. During their visit, the delegates explored significant historical and cultural sites, including Gobindgarh Fort, the Golden Temple, Jallianwala Bagh, and the vibrant Heritage Market at Amritsar. They also witnessed the iconic retreat ceremony at the Wagah Border, adding to the joy and excitement of their journey. The Student Exchange Programme successfully served as a bridge fostering cultural understanding and academic collaboration between the two esteemed institutions. Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen extended her appreciation to the coordinators, faculty members, and students for making this initiative a resounding success.
