Orientation Programme Organized for New Students at HMV



 

A general orientation programme was organized for the students of TDC-I (all streams) and UG Diplomas at various conference halls/rooms of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya on 17th July, 2025 under the stewardship of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen.  The Overall Incharge of the programme was Dr. Ashmeen Kaur IQAC Coordinator.  Students gathered in big numbers to get apprised of the various rules and regulations of the institution.  Dr. Ashmeen Kaur advised the students that discipline is the backbone of every institution and our institution is known for its discipline.  Inculcating self-discipline can transform our personality.  She also made the students aware about the prohibited use of mobiles and the existence of a Grievance Redressal Cell in the college.  Mrs. Urvashi, Dean Student Council provided general orientation regarding leave rules, eligibility, attendance and examination rules.  Dr. Anjana Bhatia, Dean Innovations and Research, for acquiring additional skills and enhancement of personality.  She gave a list of the available add-on-courses and hobby classes. Mr. Jagjit Bhatia, Placement Officer focussed on campus placement through company visits and the good pay packages earned by students every year.  HMV, he said, has the maximum placements in the region.  Dr. Anjana and LT. Sonia Mahindru also motivated the students to join NSS and NCC as student volunteers and become goodwill ambassadors of the nation. Dr. Seema Marwaha, Dean Academics threw light on the fact that ‘life is all about making choices’ and the students have made the right choice by joining HMV. She told them about the rules of change of faculty/subject, fee concessions, bus passes, gate passes, societies and clubs for honing their skills and participation in Talent Hunt competitions to be a part of Youth Welfare competitions. After the general orientation, distribution of Time Table and allotment of ID Cards was done. They also made a tour of the college campus to make themselves comfortable and feel at home. The necessary directions regarding their classes were given to them.
