Under the visionary leadership of Principal
Prof. Dr. Ajay Sareen, Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya celebrated Vrikshabandhan
and Rakhi Sakhi in collaboration with the National Edu Trust of India at Prerna
Punj. The celebration beautifully blended the sacred bond of Raksha Bandhan
with themes of environmental care, women empowerment, and institutional
commitment. The event revolved around the heartfelt theme of "Kartavya
Bandhan", signifying the duties and responsibilities we owe to our
institution. Students and faculty pledged to uphold values of harmony,
sustainability, and mutual respect. In a unique initiative of “Rakhi Sakhi”,
girls tied Rakhis to each other, symbolizing the strength of sisterhood, shared
journeys, and the promise of support. Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen tied Rakhis to
trees, reinforcing our bond with nature, and extended the gesture to faculty
and students, embodying leadership rooted in love and responsibility. Speaking
on the occasion, Dr. Sareen emphasized that “Rakhi is not just a thread , it is
a reminder of our lifelong commitment to protect, nurture, and uplift one
another and the world around us.” The Design Department, under the creative
guidance of Dr. Rakhi Mehta, crafted beautiful eco-friendly Rakhis for trees,
adding a unique artistic dimension to the event. A soulful poem was recited by
Dr. Urvashi, capturing the emotional and ecological spirit of the occasion. Esteemed
faculty members including Dr. Navroop, Dr. Seema Marwaha, Dr. Veena Arora, Dr.
Anjana Bhatia, Dr. Gagan, Dr. Sakshi, Mr. Ravi and staff members Mr. Pankaj, Mr
Ravi Maini and Mrs. Seema Joshi took part enthusiastically. The event also
witnessed active involvement of the Institution Innovation Council (IIC) and
the Department of Zoology, reinforcing interdisciplinary unity in celebrating
cultural and ecological values. The Student Council and Eco Club added vibrant
energy with handmade Rakhis, smiles, and commitment to green values. The
college extended sincere thanks to Mr. Samarth Sharma, CEO, National Edu Trust
of India, for supporting the initiative and nurturing a culture of emotional
and environmental bonding. The event beautifully reflected that true bonds are
formed not just with threads, but with values, care, and collective
responsibility for each other, for the environment and for the institution
we cherish.
