The PG Department of Mass
Communication and Video Production of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, organized
an educational visit to Radio City on the occasion of World Radio Day to
provide students with practical exposure to the functioning of the radio
industry and to enhance their understanding of radio broadcasting as a powerful
medium of communication. The visit was organized under the guidance of
Principal Dr. Ekta Khosla, who encouraged such experiential learning
initiatives aimed at bridging the gap between classroom learning and industry
practices. The Head of the Department, Dr. Rama Sharma, emphasized the
significance of radio as an enduring and influential medium that continues to
connect communities and disseminate information effectively. During the visit,
Ms. Seema Soni, Programming Director at Radio City, interacted with the
students and shared valuable insights into radio programming, content creation,
audience engagement, and the evolving dynamics of radio in the digital era. The
students also had an engaging interactive session with RJ Sandy, who discussed
the role of a radio jockey, presentation skills, and the importance of
creativity and spontaneity in radio broadcasting. The visit proved to be highly
informative and inspiring for the students, offering them firsthand exposure to
professional radio operations and motivating them to explore career
opportunities in the field of broadcast media. The department reaffirmed its
commitment to organizing such academic and industry-oriented activities in the
