HMV Organised Three-Day Faculty Development Programme on Value-Based Education

 


Hans Raj Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Jalandhar, organized a three-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on the theme of Human Values (HV) under the initiative of value-based education, approved by All India Council for Technical Education. The programme was conducted under the guidance of Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Ekta Khosla with the objective of integrating universal human values into the teaching-learning process. The event commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, creating a positive and energetic atmosphere. The programme witnessed the gracious presence of esteemed resource persons including Mr. Jatinder Narula (Local Coordinator, Universal Human Values), Mrs. Rajneesh (Co-coordinator), Mrs. Mangaldeep, and Mr. Vikram Arora. The guests were extended green welcome by Dean Youth welfare Dr. Navroop, Coordinator Dr. Ramnita Saini Sharda and Co coordinator Mr. Sumit Sharma. Dr. Ramnita Saini Sharda introduced the concept of Human Values and elaborated on its objectives and its significance in shaping individuals’ personal and social lives. Principal Dr. Ekta Khosla appreciated the efforts of the organizing team and highlighted that such programmes go beyond imparting academic knowledge. They connect educators with life values, ethics, and human relationships, which are essential for the holistic development of students. She stressed that value-based education lays the foundation for creating responsible and compassionate individuals. Dr. Jatinder Narula and Mrs. Rajneesh discussed fundamental questions of human life such as “Why to live?” and “How to live?”, encouraging participants to reflect on the purpose of life and the importance of happiness, peace, and harmony. He emphasized the need for right understanding, trust in relationships, and maintaining a balanced lifestyle. The FDP aimed at enhancing moral awareness and promoting self-reflection among teachers so that they can effectively impart value-based education to students. Various sessions covered topics related to human values, self-exploration, and social responsibility. Participants from different adjoining institutions, also attended the programme. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Co-coordinator Mr. Sumeet Sharma, expressing gratitude to all dignitaries and participants. The stage was conducted by Dr. Jyoti Gogia. The programme proved to be a meaningful initiative towards integrating values into education and fostering a more humane and responsible academic environment.
