Traffic Police Jalandhar held a Road Safety Awareness Programme at HMV



 

 To sensitize students about the importance of road safety and responsible civic behaviour, the Traffic Police Jalandhar (Education Cell) organized a Road Safety Awareness Programme at Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar under the guidance of Principal Dr. Ekta Khosla. The event was held in collaboration with the college’s Red Ribbon Club, NSS, and Red Cross Society. The programme featured Mr. Shamsher Singh, Incharge, Education Cell, Traffic Police Jalandhar, and Sardar Ranjit Singh, Former Inspector, Traffic Police Jalandhar, as the key speakers. Mr. Shamsher Singh highlighted the importance of following traffic rules and adopting safe driving practices. He emphasized the need for wearing helmets and seat belts, avoiding overspeeding, and strictly refraining from driving under the influence of intoxicants. He stated that even minor negligence on the road can lead to serious accidents and stressed that every citizen must act responsibly while using public roads. Sardar Ranjit Singh educated the students about traffic signals, road discipline, and safe driving behaviour. He urged the students to become responsible road users and to spread awareness about road safety among their families and communities. In her message, Principal Dr. Ekta Khosla said that educational institutions play an important role in shaping not only the academic growth of students but also their sense of social responsibility and civic awareness. She remarked that road safety has become a pressing concern in today’s time and such awareness initiatives help in nurturing responsible and law-abiding citizens. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks to the Traffic Police Jalandhar team for their valuable contribution. Students participated enthusiastically and pledged to follow traffic rules and promote road safety in their daily lives. On this occasion Mrs. Kuljit Kaur, Dr. Jyoti Gogia, Ms. Harmanu from NSS Unit, Mrs. Deepshikha, Mrs. Pawan Kumari from Red Cross Society, Dr. Deepali, Dr. Sandeep from Red Ribbon Club were also present.
