Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar,
observed Anti-Ragging Week with active participation and enthusiasm from
students and faculty members. The week-long initiative aimed to create
awareness about the destructive impacts of ragging, the stringent anti-ragging
laws, and the support mechanisms available to students within the institution.
Awareness sessions were organized in various classes, followed by an
Anti-Ragging Pledge, wherein students pledged to uphold a safe, respectful, and
ragging-free campus environment. A special awareness drive and pledge ceremony
was also organized in the college hostel. Principal Dr. Ekta Khosla addressed
the students and highlighted the significance of fostering healthy
senior-junior relationships founded on mutual respect, cooperation, and
understanding. Dr. Mamta, Senior Faculty Member encouraged the students to
actively contribute towards maintaining a peaceful and ragging-free hostile
environment. To promote creative expression and reinforce the anti-ragging
message, a Poster Making Competition was organized on the theme. Students
presented impactful messages through their artwork, emphasizing respect,
empathy, and responsible conduct. Harshita secured the First Position, while
Anant Kaur and Priyanka jointly bagged the Second Position. Laxmi and Khushi
jointly secured the Third Position, and Arpita received the Consolation Prize.
The programme was graced by the Principal Dr. Ekta Khosla, who reiterated the
institution’s zero-tolerance policy towards ragging and urged students to
become responsible ambassadors of a safe and inclusive campus culture. Dr.
