Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar, celebrated Fresher Night 2026 for its resident scholars on the theme "Vibes and Vivacity," under the sagacious guidance of Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Ekta Khosla. Chief Warden Ms. Ruchika Verma welcomed the Principal Dr. Khosla with a green planter. The cultural segment showcased India's rich heritage, with resident scholars performing vibrant folk dances from Uttarakhand, Jammu, Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Punjab. The audience was further captivated by a confident and graceful ramp walk presented by the first-year students. The panel of judges comprised Dr. Jyoti Gogia, Dr. Shweta Chauhan, Mrs. Binno Gupta, Mrs. Navneeta, and Ms. Sonia Mahindru, who lauded the participants for their talent and poise. Ms. Arpandeep Kaur (PGDCA) was crowned Ms. Fresher, while Ms. Kamakshi (B.Sc. Biotechnology) secured the First Runner-Up position and Ms. Kanavi (B.Voc. Cosmetology) was adjudged Second Runner-Up. Special titles were also conferred upon several participants: Ms. Diya (B.Sc. Non-Medical) was named Ms. Charming, Ms. Madhurika Sain (M.Sc. IT) received the title of Ms. Elegance, Ms. Mehak Jan (B.A.) was declared Ms. Ethnic Grace, Ms. Rhythm (+1 Arts) was honoured as Ms. Glamorous, and Ms. Tanvi (BBA) won the title of Ms. Best Catwalk. In her address, Principal Dr. Ekta Khosla encouraged the students to strive for excellence and stressed the importance of respecting parents and teachers. All first-year students were presented with ‘fresher gifts’ as a token of affection and remembrance. The Hostel’s Head Girl expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Principal Dr. Khosla and the institution for providing a comfortable and nurturing environment in the hostel. The formal proceedings concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Chief Warden Ms. Ruchika Verma, who extended her best wishes to the students. The wardens and hostel staff were also felicitated for their dedicated service rendered last year. The celebration ended with a joyful note and a special dinner and DJ party was arranged that left an indelible mark on resident scholars.
