One day Knowledge Feast on Miracle
of plants was organized by PG Deptt. of Botany for students of UG &
PG classes under the directions of Principal Dr. Rekha Kalia Bhardwaj. Students gave PPT on topic Use of Plants
against drug Addiction’ and ‘Antiaging Plants’. They enlightened the students about causes
of aging and the role of various plants like Neem, Aloe Vera, Brahmi, Turmeric,
Broccoli, Tomato, Hibiscus etc. to slow down the process of aging. In addition to this, students also threw
light on growing hazards of drug addiction in Punjab . Drug de-addiction can be carried out with the
help of various herbal remedies comprising Hovenia dulcis, centella etc. Students were also exposed to various medicinal
plants available in college-campus like Indian Ginseng – Ashwagandha,
Stevia-Antisugar, Triphala plants – Harad, Bhavea, Amla etc. Offg. Principal Mrs. Renuka Bhatti encouraged
the students to adopt the natural life style and make use of the plants in
their everyday life. Dr. Meena Sharma,
HOD Botany encouraged the students to stay away from drugs. Dr. Neelam Sharma, Dr. Anjana Bhatia, Dr.
Shaveta Chauha, Mrs. Ramandeep, Mrs. Jasdeep, Ms. Amneet Kaur, Ms. Ashima Arora
were also present on this occasion.
